Join milliner Richard Nylon for a talk on a history of millinery and millinery techniques at the Loel Thomson Costume Collection.
Loel Thomson collected over 10,000 unique pieces of every day Australian fashion over 40 years from Federation to the present day. Among these were bonnets from the 1850s, cloches from the 1920s and picture hats from the 1960s. Learn about the various millinery styles and techniques from one of Melbourne's foremost milliners.
Richard Nylon has been creating millinery pieces for over twenty years. He has collaborated with bridal couturier Gwendolynne Burkin for almost his entire career. His work has been collected by the National Gallery of Victoria, commissioned by The Australian Ballet, and exhibited at The Johnston Collection.
